What Leyland's Doing - Trevor
Tunstall takes the reader back 30
years to the very first days of
Leopard chassis production at the
Leyland Assembly Plant. An amusing
account. Joseph Wilkinson, Edinburgh
& Glasgow Leyland Agent. A detailed
account of this organisations
activities from the start in the
1920's until 1974 when the company
was aquired by The Heron
Corporation.
Leyland Shop Wagons - Four of
the Company's shop wagons spanning a
30 year period, mid 30's to 60's.
Most of these wagons ran on trade
plates and were never registered. 10

Atlantean Half Century - Ron
Phillips. Up until 1952, Liverpool
Corporation was mainly an AEC
customer. From then on, Leylands
were purchased in increasing
numbers. Ron tells us how the City
introduced the Atlantean to the
travelling public in December 1959.
Ron gives the reader a lot of
interesting detail, particularly
regarding the bodywork of these fine
buses. In 1969 Liverpool City
transport was transferred to MPTE
which also included Birkenhead &
Wallasey Corporations who also had
Atlanteans. (Wallasey, the very
first, I believe.DB)

Sheffield's "Gearless Buses"
- Keith Beeden. Part 1. One of the
reasons for Sheffield choosing
Gearless Buses was that the
residents of the south western
suburbs were complaining of the
noise made by the Titans climbing
the long steep climbs of that area
in second gear. An extremely
interesting and well written account
that examines both the technical and
day to day operation of these buses.
