to promote the study and preservation of Leyland vehicles

About Us

The Leyland Society (Registered Charity No. 1137856) aims to preserve the heritage of Britain’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer for future generations to appreciate.

With access to the extensive BCVM archive as well as numerous photographic collections accumulated by our members and others, we have the most comprehensive collection of materials relating to Leyland’s heritage available anywhere. We are also in the process of accumulating a significant collection of Service Manuals and Training Course Notes that cover much of Leyland’s production across the years. In time the plan is to scan these so they can be made available digitally and this process has started.

We currently have a worldwide membership that is approaching 500 who for an annual subscription receive four quarterly copies of our NEW A4 format glossy Leyland Torque publication. From Autumn 2018 we have increased the size of Leyland Torque from A5 to A4 to allow us to include many of the highly detailed and lavishly illustrated items previously included in the Leyland Journal which this new format replaces. Typically the new format Leyland Torque includes 40 pages (the previous A5 layout fits into 24 of the larger A4 pages) and provides much more flexibility to include all the regular features members expect with a greater assortment of more detailed articles some of which are in colour where appropriate, covering a range of topics about the products of Leyland Motors Ltd and its successors. If you are interested in joining the Society you will find an membership application form here.

The Society is run by a Committee of elected Trustee Directors..
