Leyland Society Gathering - 2014

The Leyland Society held a annual Gathering to enable members and enthusiasts of Leyland vehicles to meet and exhibit their vehicles.

Little and Large! The miniscule Trojan car BS9884 alongside the mighty Leyland Titan PD2/12 SHA 413.   The Leicester City Leyland S2.30.T Tower wagon made it under its own steam, wonderful to see it.
Not a normal entry for the Leyland Society Gathering but worthy of a picture representative of the venue.   Mike Sutcliffes 1908 X2 with the very ornate Tilling 34 seat open top body with Quorn station as the backdrop.
1991 DROPS MMLC is a meaty lump and clearly prepared to demonstrate its capabilities loading and unloading the amphibious Alvis (part of the Leyland Group) Stalwart Load Carrier.   A tidy pair of Comets, The ex BRS Comet 90 artic TYO 210 with the 4 in line trailer typical of its day partnered by the ex Leyland Works fleet (Chorley) Comet box body.
The beautifully presented Leyland TD4 Beadle rebuild OKP980 travelled from North Yorkshire.   A very tidy (and so they should be!) pair of demonstrators from the local DAF dealership Ford and Slater.
